Shannon's Thoughts:

So Close to You is a fun read but somewhat forgettable.  I enjoyed it, but it was lacking a little substance.  There are essentially two elements to the story: time travel and government conspiracy.  I really enjoyed the time travel element when Lydia travels back in time to 1944.  The characters she meets (especially Mary) are fun and infuse a lot of life into the story.  I was not as interested in the Montauk Project/Government Conspiracy part.  I couldn’t find myself getting into it.  But I felt the time traveling part makes up for it. The other thing I thought was a bit odd was the chemistry between Lydia and Wes.  They had kind of an insta-love situation, without knowing anything about each other.  But I almost felt like there was more to it than that.  That the connection between them was more than just love at first sight. This is pure speculation on my end, but maybe it will be explored in the next book.  Now I will say that So Close To You ends in a game changing cliff hanger and it made me pretty interested to read the next book.
