Shannon's Thoughts:
Wendy makes quite a change. With Elora sick, she has really stepped up to ruling her kingdom. She has also started to master her magical abilities. She is engaged to Tove and getting over Finn. While I had a hard time buying into that big of a turnaround in such a short amount of time, but I liked the "new" Wendy better than the previous one so I was willing to overlook it. I also appreciated Wendy's decisions when choosing between Finn and Loki. While I wasn't always on board with either romance, I thought her reasoning was actually mature decision making. And, hey, something actually happens at the end! The characters do continue to talk incessantly about everything, but there is a lot of action and excitement at the end. The ending has everything tied up in a neat little bow, which is just very...convenient. All in all, I don't think this is the strongest paranormal series out there, but I think some readers would probably enjoy it.
Books in the series in the order they should be read:
1. Switched
2. Torn
3. Ascend
