Shannon's Thoughts:

Why did I wait so long to read this?!?  Admittedly, the whole cyborg thing was a major turn off for me.  Something about it just didn’t click with me, but amazing reviews kept poring in to the point where I felt I could no longer ignore this book.  I’m SO glad I gave it a chance.  Fun.  That is how I would describe this book.  Marissa Meyers did a great job of blending Cinderella with a futuristic plot, that was different (and better!) than I expected.  I guessed the “twist” early on, but I didn’t even care.  I was having too much fun watching it get to that point.  Some parts end up being a little fluffy.  I found this mostly occurred when Meyers was trying to converge the Cinderella thread with her sci-fi plot.  I won’t lie, this isn’t the most thought provoking book or the most clever.  There isn’t a lot of strong world building.  But I was captivated by the characters and the fast paced plot.  Definitely worth a read!
