Shannon's Thoughts:

I don't read many "cozy mysteries" but I have a few series that I enjoy.  Chet and Bernie is one of them.  The best part of this series is the fact that they are narrated by Chet, a large shepherd with unwavering devotion to his Private Investigator owner, Bernie.  Chet is hilarious and Spencer Quinn does a great job of putting the reader in the mind of dog. 

The Sound and the Furry is the sixth installment in the series and takes Bernie and Chet to Louisiana.  I have to honest and admit this wasn't my favorite one of the series.  I usually like it when series that their characters on the road, but I think I prefer Chet and Bernie in their natural Arizonian surroundings. 

But even though this book wasn't my favorite, over all I think this series is a great one.  It is charming, funny and an easy read.  Chet is a great narrator and it is so much fun to see the scenes through his eyes.  His take on the world is great.  If you are looking for a fun, easy series I highly recommend Chet and Bernie!
