Shannon's Thoughts:
I found Grave Mercy to be very exciting - I was really kept on my toes the whole time. And I really liked the character. Ismae is a great. She is fiesty and proud, but also caring and loyal. Her relationship with Duval was one of my favorite parts of the book. They start out with a mutual distrust and over time it develops into something more. I liked that the romance develops slowly and is based on more than just “love at first sight”.
I highly recommend Grave Mercy! I devoured the book in record time and I think you will too!
The second book, Dark Triumph, is due out in April! I can't wait!

ReplyDeleteWell, I read so many good things about Grave Mercy and I think that I am starting to like historical fiction. I hated it at first, but now, there are so many good stuff that I can't help but fall in love with them.

I'm so happy when I hear someone loved this book. It was amazing! Everything was so exciting and such a new idea to YA books. I loved the relationship between Ismae and Duval as well, it was adorable. I'm so excited for Dark Triumph!
ReplyDeleteSoma, historical fiction can be a lot of fun if you take it all with a grain of salt or the writer doesn't spend the whole time showing off how much research they've done. LOL.
ReplyDeleteAndrea, ME TOO! I guess its from Sybella's point of view. I was kind of against it until I read Kristin Cashore's Graceling series and now I can kind of get behind it. :)
